Join the Network Instructions


 

Instructions for filling out the Join the Network Form 

The information on the “Join the Network” form helps us determine shipment schedules, shipment size (based on the total number of institutions that join the local network), and to some extent the composition of shipments.

Please fill out the form as completely as possible, especially in Section 1, where we ask for the names and contact information of possible partner schools. 


*Required field (if no information is available, please type “none”)

*Date:  Date prepared

*Institution – the name and address of your institution.

*Contact name:  The primary contact for your institution or library.

*Email:  e-mail address of the contact person

*Phone:  business phone number and/or mobile phone number.

Institutional Ecclesial Affiliation:  we are ecumenical in nature, and expect that our shipments will be distributed to schools and institutions of all denominations on an equitable basis.

Year Institution Founded:  This information helps us understand how much a region is growing and the history of your institution.

Affiliations with accrediting agencies:  This is a way for us to develop the network further by knowing what agencies you are affiliated with.

Status:  current status of accreditation:  accredited, in process, preliminary stages

*Partner schools:

Because we are ecumenical and want to reach as many schools as possible, we ask for the names of theological schools nearby that might be able to partner with you to receive books.  We encourage you to provide the names of schools from all ecclesial affiliations that may be in your area.  The more schools involved in a shipment, the larger the size of the shipment and the less the cost to each individual school (to cover the in-country costs). 

If you know. or can find out, the names of contacts at local theological schools, please provide as much contact information as possible (name, phone, email.      If not, please provide whatever information you have.

Sections 2-16

The information in these sections helps us determine what is needed for your library, the overall size of the shipment, how many books you will reasonably be able to process at a time, how we can help build your library in the areas most needed, and general information that helps us gauge the need for your library and area in general.  Please provide as much information as possible.

*What is primary language of instruction?  Most of our books are in English, but we do have books in other languages available. 

*If English is not the primary language,  – Same as above

*What percentage of the titles: of the titles are in English?   An estimate of the percentage of books in English

*Other languages of instruction – Local languages, other major languages that are used in the classroom.

*Number of current paid periodical subscriptions:  We can also provide long runs of periodicals, so more information about your periodical needs may be asked at a later date.

*Regular internet access:  Yes, No, or Other methods of accessing the internet

*Catalog system:  Dewey Decimal, LOC, Easy Library, or other (please indicate what “other” is)

*Approximate number of students enrolled:  Full time ____, Part time  _______

Plans for cataloging:  This answer will vary greatly upon your particular situation, but it is helpful to us to know what problems/situations will occur, especially for a large shipment.]

Have you contacted any other organizations regarding receiving books?

Strengths and weaknesses: The answer to this will help us determine how best to aid you in building your library.   The majority of the books we send are of a general nature, but on occasion we can send books that will fill a particular gap or help with curricular needs.
