Feedback From Recipients

"Once again, we just want to register our gratitude to the Theological Network for blessing PACWA with such wonderful enriching books. We are expecting about 60 of our PACWA Regional leaders from all over Africa to come to Nairobi next month for the Regional Leadership Training at which session we shall distribute the books to ladies. I know they will be blessed."

"Most people in the U.S. have no idea of the poverty level in this country. Uganda is still digging out of the hole made by Idi Ammin in the mid 1970's. In the private sector, one third of the workers receive $12. per month or less and another one forth of the workers receive $24. per month or less. Government workers make more, three quarters of them make $60. per month or more. (New Vision, Dec. 2007). Therefore, few of the students can raise enough for tuition, let alone anything for purchasing books. To have choices of materials such as you are sending is like heaven to them. They are eager for new books from which to glean and learn. Thank you again."

"I have gone through several of the books that the Theological Book Network donated to us. I must say that they are of great value. The wide variety and the quality of the books have enriched our library. This enhancement will definitely help us to serve a larger and specialized public."

"It's so exciting to see that many scholarly books and periodicals both used and new books were shipped with a heart to help the needy colleges and seminaries in India. These resources are a great value, treasure and wealth to all the libraries and every individual that use them in the coming days. Thank you TBN for your best service of providing wealth of knowledge for the upcoming pastors, evangelists, teachers and church planters of the future generation in India."

“I am glad to let you know that the boxes of books sent to the Trinity Theological Seminary in Ghana have been delivered to us. We are most grateful to you for including Trinity in your list of beneficiary institutions. We are seeking to build this institution into an international one and already there are at least 10 Seminarians studying here at the undergraduate and graduate levels drawn from Nigeria, Cameroon and Sierra Leone. We hope that our partnership with the TBN would help us to resource our library to offer the best theological education available anywhere in the world but this time, within an African setting.”

“The consignment which was sent to SAIACS brought a big smile on the faces of all our colleagues here. We are glad to note that many scholarly books and periodicals both new and old were in the boxes. Resources that are sent by the Theological Book Network were a great value to all the libraries. Through this consignment many of the libraries were able to strengthen their collections according the level of courses offered. We did not see a single book which was damaged or unwanted here. Therefore what you have sent is a great asset to libraries in India.  A good number of books and journals which are not available from any bookshops were found in the shipment.”

Executive Secretary

“We got the schools together and distributed the books last week. 8 schools participated Wednesday and Thursday, including Catholic and ecumenical schools, bible colleges and seminaries. It was a very good time to bless and be blessed.  The books were very good, with a lot of volumes that will be well used in the various libraries.  I know the librarians were glad to receive this help.”

"I can't tell you how grateful I am.  The selection is excellent.  You clearly put a lot of thought into it, and the librarians and I are really grateful.  We're still opening boxes, but we've been delighted with the range of books.
Patrick Nugent
Principal, Friends Theological College, Kenya

"I am glad to inform you that Katigondo successfully sorted the books and the other institutions were asked to pick their share. Ggaba came over to pick theirs. They were extremely grateful. Katigondo helped Alokolum Seminary by taking theirs to them. They are in the north and they have suffered a great deal because of the insurgency in that part of the country. They too are very grateful to TBN for the donation. The other institutions are still to pick theirs. Once again on behalf of all the benefiting institutions I want to thank you and the team at TBN for this timely and very useful assistance. God bless you all."
Fr. Francis Nnaku
Dean of Studies, Katigondo Major Seminary, Uganda

I have had the chance to open the boxes and arrange the books for cataloguing. I must stay that I was impressed by the number of books you sent, and also by the variety of subjects you managed to cover. Having seen the books, I have to say thank you to you for sending many new titles. Please accept my deepest appreciation for your gesture. Your gift is surely an immense step ahead for our library. Two of my colleagues, recent doctors who miss Western libraries, were impressed when they saw the books. So, many thanks also on their behalf."
Dr. Corneliu C. Simut
Faculty of Theology, Emanuel University, Romania

"The contribution of these books for the improvement of our library collection lies not only in its financial value (which by itself is already quite substantial) but much more in the well balanced, helpful content. Other theological schools who have received books from the shipment have also greatly appreciated the additions to their libraries. Some mentioned that all of their annual budget would not be enough to pay for the box of books that they now took along. Considering the surprisingly few bureaucratic hassles (not least due to well prepared documentation on the side of TBN) I believe, in overall, the shipment has been a success and will continue to prove a blessing throughout further distribution events. The timing of the shipment was perfect."

"My colleagues have all asked me to say thank you for sending us the excellent books. Of the titles received many are new and those which are older are very important pieces of scholarship.  Please accept our sincerest gratitude for your very important support to Emanuel University."
Dr. Corneliu C. Simut

"Thank you so much for your donation of books to our jail library. Through this library we distribute religious books and periodicals to every area of the facility once a week. Inmates are locked down in their cells for the majority of the day and since there isn't a television in their cell, books become very important, even to people who might not read on the outside. Your donation has also helped us in our Community Re-Entry Center. We are in the process of forming a library in this facility. Your donation of books has gotten us off to a good start into making this an important part of the Community Re-Entry Center which helps inmates successfully re-enter society. Thanks again for your gracious donation."
