Guidelines for Sending Books to the Theological Book Network

  1. Please review our categories (see above) for the types of books that are needed by our partner schools. Anything outside of those categories cannot be used so please carefully check your books with our needs. We don’t want you to spend money on sending books that don’t fit our mission.

  2. Packing the books: we suggest that you use a medium size book box so that the box doesn’t become too heavy. Pack the books in columns with larger ones at the bottom and smaller at the top. Make sure that the spines face each other. Please do not pack the books with the spines up; it will likely damage the books during transit. You may wish to place books in between the columns to stabilize the box. Please use packing paper or newspaper to fill in the gaps.

  3. Please use large amounts of tape on each box on all sides. This will help keep the boxes from bursting and prevent books from coming out of the boxes during transit. Place a sheet of paper inside each box that has your name and address on it. This will help our warehouse staff identify and credit the donation properly.

  4. The least expensive way to send the books is via the US Postal Service using their media mail rate. Your postage costs are deductible so you will want to keep your receipts.

  5. Also, please place clear tape over your shipping label to protect it.

  6. Send the books to:

    Theological Book Network
    3529 Patterson Ave.
    Grand Rapids, MI 49512

If your donation is potentially over 1000 books, please contact us to discuss other transport options. If you have questions about this process, don’t hesitate to contact us: We will be happy to discuss any details that might be helpful.

Thank you!
